Yorkshire and Humberside: Regional Event

Schools and caterers looking to source regional food are being invited to attend the second Meet the Producer event next week.
The event will be held on Tuesday 9 February 2010 from 10am-4pm in Harrogate. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet over 75 food and drink producers under one roof, helping to secure new business relationships and contracts.
Food and drink producers from Yorkshire and Humber will be representing a wide selection of sectors, including cheese, meat, alcohol, bakery, prepared and chilled products. Yorkshire producers who are confirmed to attend include Side Oven Bakery, Sloe Motion, Wold Top Brewery, Taste Tradition, Holme Farmed Venison, Yorkshire Crisps, Mackenzie's Yorkshire Smokehouse and Topping Pies.
More than 130 companies have already confirmed attendance, including Little Chef, Fodder, Bettys and Taylors of Harrogate, The Proudfoot Group, the National Trust and numerous retailers, councils, farmshops, NHS trusts, tourist attractions and hotel groups.
RFG trade development manager Melanie Whitehead said: "We work hard to attract the very best producers and buyers to our regular events. The Meet the Producer event provides the perfect opportunity to meet many companies at the same time in the same place, saving time and effort for both parties, and securing new business leads and indeed signed contracts.
"Sourcing local and regional food is high on the agenda for many companies, and RFG is dedicated to making the process as easy as possible."
