Top chef Phil Vickery has created a selection of Bramley apple recipes especially for small children to cook and for older kids to try on their own.
Vickery's dishes are perfect for giving children hands-on experience in the kitchen, inspiring them to cook fresh, healthy food.
Phil Vickery's recipes are:
For children aged 11-14 years
• Baked Bramley Apples with Pecans and Golden Syrup
• Bramley Apple Crumble
• Baked Chicken with Bramley Apples and Orange Glaze
• Green Fish Curry with Coconut Milk and Bramley Apples
For children aged 5-14 years
• Easy Bramley Apple and Sultana Teabread
• Bramley Apple and Yogurt Fool
• Juicy Pork Patties with Spicy Bramley Apple Sauce
• Potato, Bramley Apple Herb and Tuna Frittata
Vickery said: "Encouraging kids to cook from an early age is really important as it teaches them to appreciate good food and learn about nutrition, as well as developing cooking skills.
"Baked Bramley apples were one of the first things I learned to cook when I was younger and I want to share with a new generation just how easy it is to make this and other simple, tasty dishes using this most versatile of ingredients."
All recipes are available on www.bramleykids.com, a free online resource for teachers and pupils, and www.bramleyapples.co.uk.
