Autumn season of UIFSM roadshows is ready to roll

16 Sep 2014

Following the success of their UIFSM regional roadshows earlier in the year, LACA and the Children’s Food Trust (CFT) have announced a second workshop tour of England to support schools and caterers cope with the challenges of providing infant free school meals.

Each workshop will also address the new allergy regulations coming into force in December and January start of the revised school food standards.

Issues being tackled will include workforce development, with a presentation by LACA, plus how schools with no kitchens can manage. The latter topic will be covered by the experiences of three major suppliers – Cygnet, Pasta King and PKL.

Other areas the workshops will examine will be Creating a Positive Dining Room Experience, Food Quality, and Sourcing and Kitchen Management.

The workshops will also see input from Myles Bremner, director of the School Food Plan, the Food for Life Partnership and celebrity barbecue chef Ben Bartlett from the Craft Guild of Chefs.
