Caterer AiP wins second Bedford catering contract

Public and private education caterers Alliance in Partnership (AiP) has secured a second contract at a Bedfordshire school.

The five year contract awarded by Samuel Whitbread Community College in Shefford has a value of £1.5 million to the privately owned catering company.

AiP has been busy at work introducing brand new marketing throughout the campus, new wider choice menus and new point of sale techniques.

Education caterers AiP secures contract with first school in Bedfordshire region

Public and private education caterers Alliance in Partnership (AiP) has secured a five year contract with their very first school in the Bedfordshire region.

Harlington Upper School in Dunstable is a foundation school, providing education to almost 1360 pupils aged 13 to 18 years, with a specialist status in the subject of science.

The contract which commenced on the 31st October, is worth over £1 million.

Meals will be freshly prepared on-site daily with a choice of breakfast, lunch and snacks.

Education caterers AiP wins contract at Hertfordshire school

Education caterers Alliance in Partnership (AiP) has secured a new contract worth £70,000 at Gorsley Goffs Primary School in Herefordshire.

The new contract will supply freshly hot and cold lunch meals via a daily delivery service, freshly prepared at the larger John Kyrle High School and Sixth Form Centre kitchen hub.

The hub already supplies five other local primary schools with nutritional meals and can easily incorporate the additional service.

David Weller, managing director for AiP, said: "We are really passionate about working with primary and first schools.

Kids from East Anglia tasked with creating the tallest jelly

When youngsters from East Anglia return to school next month, they will be faced with what has been described as “one of their toughest academic challenges” – to create the tallest jelly.

The Institute of Food Research's Tallest Jelly competition is open to schools throughout Norfolk as part of the EDP Bidwells Norfolk Food Festival. Building a structure from Jelly more than 10cm tall is no easy task due to its strength.

To make the jelly stronger the children will either have to increase the gel strength or give the jelly structure using other edible materials.
