School provider Cordia launches Glasgow’s first food van

Cordia, Glasgow’s school catering provider, has officially launched the city’s first external custom-built food kiosk at Holyrood Secondary School.

The unit was officially opened at the south side secondary school by Cordia Chair, Councillor Jim Mackechnie.

He was joined by head teacher Tom McDonald and pupils from Europe's biggest secondary school who now use the Holyrood Hut regularly.

Glasgow school kids support Mary's Meals charity

Almost 300,000 meals have recently been provided to children in Malawi thanks to the generosity of Glasgow school kids.

Primary and secondary school children from throughout Glasgow helped school meals provider Cordia support international charity Mary's Meals by ordering lunch from their dining halls.

Pupils at Auchenblae Primary school take part in final of “Apprentice style” challenge

Pupils at Auchenblae Primary school will find out who will be “hired” and who will be “fired” at the final of their own “Apprentice style” challenge thanks to food ingredients manufacturer Macphie, the University of Aberdeen Rowett Institute for Nutrition and Health (RINH) and the Scottish Food and Drink Federation1 (SFDF).

The 'S(o)uper Apprentice' has seen the primary four and five pupils take part in a variety of business related tasks over the past nine weeks to produce a new healthy soup made from locally grown produce.
