Green Gourmet aims to scoop hattrick of awards

Green Gourmet, the foodservice provider and LACA partner, is hoping to add two more wins to its recent OnBoard Hospitality Award, which it won for its Great British Fish and Chips product.

The packaging product was created in partnership with DHL for British Airways and enables caterers to keep batter crispy when in the air. It is the first consumer ready product for the global travel market to be Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) certified.

Managing director Julie Moore is hoping to add to the company’s recent success after being shortlisted in the small business category of the Institute of Directors (IoD) South West Director Awards.

With its roots in school catering, Green Gourmet now services over 125 local authorities and contract caterers. Julie has also built on the core business by diversifying into the travel catering market. Sales in the on-board catering market have grown to over £3m in just four years.

Its products are served on BA, Virgin Atlantic, Thomson, Monarch and Qantas and are also exported for service to seven countries outside of the UK.

The Gloucestershire based company is also celebrating being selected as a finalist for the West of England Business Awards.

The West of England Business Awards showcase the best of the regions enterprise, innovation and work in the community.
