LACA chair calls for holiday hunger funding applicants

24 May 2016

Peter McGrath has written to LACA members calling for applicants as the next
stage of the LACA chair’s Holiday Hunger 100k challenge begins.

McGrath set himself a personal goal to run 10k across each of the LACA regions to raise awareness and funds for the holiday hunger/summer meals projects across the UK.

In the letter, he wrote: “The next stage of the process is to select Holiday Provision projects in each UK region to donate funding to and this is where I need your help.

“In simple terms it would be great if you could identify or inform local projects that there is a one-off funding opportunity that could support their project this summer.”

All forms, attached below, need to be completed giving details of the project and the amount of funding required and need to be returned by closing date 24 June 2016.

Applications for each country will then be drawn by ballot by School Chef of the Year, Kath Breckon, and will be announced at this year’s LACA Main Event. A list of projects and funding allocated will be uploaded to the LACA website.

Projects that have been selected will be notified week commencing 11 July 2016 and funding transferred as soon as practicable thereafter.

Projects will need to be open to visits from LACA representatives during the summer and potential media coverage, as well as provide a reports of outcomes.
