LACA respond to Health Select Committee Report on Childhood Obesity

LACA today responded to the Health Select Committee report on childhood obesity; Peter McGrath, Chair of LACA said:
“On behalf of LACA I welcome today’s report from the Health Select Committee, it is both well informed and considered. As the report rightly recognises, nutrition in schools has improved immeasurably in recent years yet the number of children leaving school obese remains worryingly high. Universal standards that apply to all schools and ensuring that children are fed a healthy, balanced meal not just in the early years of their education but right up to the age of 18 would go a long way to combating this issue.”
