Stuart Roberts, deputy president of the National Farmers Union (NFU), will chair a webinar discussion on 17 February concerning the NFU’s net zero commitment and the role of British food in climate friendly supply chains.

The webinar will also feature Professor Michael Lee from Harper Adams University, poultry producer Will Oliver and Tim Radcliffe from East Lancashire NHS Trust to bring the voice of science, the producer and the buyer.

The webinar aims to provide a platform to positively engage with public sector caterers to highlight British farming’s net zero ambitions and illustrate how UK production systems can reduce the carbon footprint of the food we eat.

The NFU will be discussing what the net-zero commitment from British farming means to the supply chain, why buying local-seasonal-British is important and how authorities can support farming.

Two years ago, the NFU set the ambitious goal of reaching net zero greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions across the whole of agriculture in England and Wales by 2040. British farmers are working hard producing climate friendly food to some of the world’s highest environmental and welfare standards.

The webinar is free to attend, for more information visit here.
