Sysco Speciality Group releases Best of British guide

With the British fresh produce season now in full swing, Sysco Speciality Group has launched a guide that will enable caterers to source the ‘very best’ of British produce.

Sysco Speciality Group, which incorporates Fresh Direct, M&J, Fresh Fayre, Wild Harvest, KFF and Medina Foodservice, offers a range of dairy and seafood produce. The guide has been produced to inform Sysco customers about how buying British can not only help them with budgeting but with environmental issues such as food miles, provenance and animal welfare.

The seasonal range is delivered to the kitchen door and comes from over 100 expert British producers, from growers to farmers, fishermen to dairy processors, bakers to local suppliers, allowing caterers to include the grower or farm location on their menu for a point of difference and extra provenance.

Sysco Speciality Group has compiled a comprehensive list of suppliers for the brochure which will help caterers to benefit the environment by reducing the journey from farm to fork and from sea to plate to reduce their carbon footprint.
