UIFSM petition achieves 10,000 signatures

22 Sep 2015

A petition urging the government to back Universal Infant Free School Meals (UIFSM) has reached 10,000 signatures, which means it will receive an official response from the government.

Recent media reports have cast doubt over the future of the scheme, despite the Conservatives pledging to continue supporting it in their 2015 election manifesto.

If the petition continues to gain signatures and reaches the 100,000 mark, the issue will be considered for debate in Parliament. To view or sign the petition click here.
