02 Nov 2020

The Government has announced restrictions across England, lasting from 5th November until 2nd December.
 For further information on those restrictions, and what it means for places of business, please click here.

In order to support businesses through this period, the Government has extended the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme (furlough) for a further month.  The successor Job Support Scheme has been postponed until the furlough scheme ends.

Businesses in England required to close due to local or national restrictions will also be eligible for the following:

• For properties with a rateable value of £15k or under, grants to be £1,334 per month, or £667 per two weeks;

• For properties with a rateable value of between £15k-£51k grants to be £2,000 per month, or £1,000 per two weeks;

• For properties with a rateable value of £51k or over grants to be £3,000 per month, or £1,500 per two weeks.

Devolved administrations will receive funding which they could use to establish similar schemes for businesses in other parts of the UK.
