Children’s Food Trust gets ready for Big Cookathon 2015

18 Feb 2015

The Children’s Food Trust (CFT) is looking for participants to join its Big Cookathon 2015 as it aims to get children and families regularly cooking and eating healthy meals at home.

The event will take place from March 6th- 9th as thousands of people in schools, clubs, workplace and families cook the CFT’s Speedy Biriyani from scratch – a festival dish traditionally served at Indian weddings.

The annual Big Cookathon is now in its seventh year and is being supported by Ben’s Beginners, which also aims to get children cooking with their families, and the Big Lottery Fund.

The event offers the chance for participants to win cash prizes, as the CFT encourages groups to get the most people cooking together. Three prizes of £2,000 are up for grabs for groups getting the most people cooking together, two lucky draw prizes of £2,000 can be won by groups that get people cooking together, and there will also be 25 prizes of £200 for family and friends cooking together.
