Karen Robinson made it past the halfway point of her LACA National School Meals Week (NSMW) marathon run yesterday as she passed through Highfield High School in Letchworth Garden City and Barneby Road Academy in Newark.

Robinson, who is running five marathons in five days powered only by school meals, travelled through the Wales, South West, South East and London regions over Monday and Tuesday.

She was joined on her run yesterday by Stuart Clarke, head of operations for Hertfordshire Catering Ltd, provider of school meals across half of Hertfordshire’s secondary schools and 95% of its primary schools.

Students from Highfield School also joined Robinson, crossing the finishing line with her before enjoying breakfast at the school.

The marathons continue tomorrow when NSMW, sponsored by Kraft Heinz, takes in LACA’s Scotland, North East and Yorkshire and Humberside regions, stopping off at Ravensthorpe C O E Junior School in Dewsbury- home to current School Chef of the Year winner, Tracy Healey.
