LACA serves school lunch to MP's and Peers in the House of Commons

Approximately 60 Members of the House of Commons plus a number of Peers recently sampled the quality of food currently served in school restaurants across England and Wales and the Members were both surprised and very impressed with what was on offer.

Stephen Mosley MP said “It was fantastic to be able to give my fellow Parliamentarians the opportunity to see just how great school food really is. School lunches are the ideal opportunity for us to help improve children's’ achievements by providing a healthy and nutritionally balanced meal, and to also look again at how we can combat childhood obesity. The day was a huge success and I would like to thank LACA for all they do to promote great school lunches, and for showing MPs how healthy, tasty and excellent modern meals can be.”

Carrieanne Bishop, who, as Vice Chair represented LACA at the event said ”I was so proud of everyone who was involved in pulling the MP’s lunch together on LACA’s behalf. I can only say a job really well done. This was a great event and one that certainly raised LACA’s profile as well as emphasising just how great school food actually is. We couldn’t have asked for a better build up to the NSMW launch. I had many MP’s saying they support what we are working to achieve with regard a free meal for all during NSMW and they would like to see the schools in their constituencies taking part in The Great Free School Lunch. I know plans are already in place for next years event, which I am sure will be even bigger and better”.
