NEWydd Catering and Cleaning prepares for period of ‘significant’ growth

16 Dec 2025
NEWydd Catering and Cleaning is set to expand into new areas, creating opportunities for jobs, collaboration and increased recognition of its services.

Led by managing director Steve Jones, the catering and cleaning provider – which has more than 350 employees - is drawing increasing interest from educators and organisations across Cheshire and the Wirral.

Best known for delivering up to 14,000 freshly prepared school meals every day, the organisation puts nutrition, local sourcing and sustainability at its core. Menus prioritise Welsh suppliers, supporting the regional economy and reducing food miles.

The Eat Smart, Save Better programme run in partnership with Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board has already reached 18 primary schools, teaching families to cook healthy meals on a budget.

Participants finish the programme with new skills, ingredients, cooking equipment and a recipe book to support affordable cooking at home.

The service also helps schools redesign dining spaces, improve food culture and support vulnerable pupils through confidence-building cooking classes. Seasonal Theme Days, Taster Events, curriculum-linked activities and live kitchen demonstrations further enrich the experience for children and families.

Scott Lawson, business development manager at NEWydd Catering, said: "This is an exciting time for us, and we are seeing real momentum in both catering and cleaning enquiries. Our priority is to continue delivering a high-quality, reliable service while exploring fresh opportunities for growth. Our team is committed, ambitious, and ready to take NEWydd onto its next chapter."
