All Party Parliamentary Group on School Food launches awards

The All Parliamentary Group (APPG) on School Food has launched awards for 2019/2020.

Aimed at recognising excellence in innovation and individual commitment, it will provide an opportunity for those working within school food a chance to ‘step forward and shine’.

Each submission must be accompanied by a covering letter from an MP and close at 3pm on Wednesday 4 December 2019.

The winners will be announced at the APSE Facilities, Catering and Cleaning Management seminar on 30 January 2020 at the Nottingham Belfry Hotel.

The awards include:

  • The APPG School Food award for schools – either an in-house catering team, head teacher, teacher(s) or support staff who have come up with a creative initiative to serve healthy food to children within the school setting.
  • The APPG School Food award for individuals – An individual who has shown individual commitment; someone whose ideas and innovation have changed things for the better; someone who has had a significant impact on local communities and children.
  • The APPG School Food award for groups - An organisation, charity or catering team who have used initiative to serve healthy food to children; an organisation, charity or catering team who have been able to work together to achieve positive outcomes on local communities and children.
