Heston heads line-up at Food Matters Live event in November
Former Sainsbury’s chief executive Justin King and neuroscientist Baroness Susan Greenfield will head an all-star cast of speakers taking part in the CPD (continuous professional development) accredited Food Matters Live education programme, which also includes ministers from the Departments of Health, Education and DEFRA, and business leaders from Tesco, Mars, Greggs, Hellmann’s and others.
They will team up with Prue Leith, the Sustainable Restaurant Association vice president and new face of The Great British Bake Off, former Times foreign editor Bronwen Maddox, food historian Dr Annie Gray, The Angry Chef Anthony Warner, and the Food and Drink Federation’s Ian Wright to address the critical relationship between food, health and nutrition.
Major talking points will include: tackling obesity in the out-of-home sector, whether industry can cut sugar levels by 20% in three years, how neuroscience can influence healthier food choices and the impact of the shock US election result on the future of food and drink.
BBC presenters Anita Anand, Simon Jack and Timandra Harkness will chair the debates, which are the highlight of the three-day free-to-attend Food Matters Live event.
