Mellors creates new communications tool for employees

13 Apr 2023
Mellors Catering Services has created a new communications tool called ‘Grapevine’, which is available to all 2,000 Mellors employees.

Feedback from employees found a need to consolidate communications into one central platform. Grapevine is available to download as an app in the Google Play Store (for Android users),  in the App Store (for Apple users) or accessible by visiting the Mellors website.

Grapevine will help keep staff better informed with the latest company news and help teams collaborate together by sharing best practice and improving knowledge. Users are able stay up to date with charity activity, enter competitions, access company resources and chat to colleagues online via the built-in messaging service.

Tony Trainor, chief executive at Mellors Catering Services, said: “We constantly strive to improve the wellbeing of our employees and effective communication is central to this. The app, available on-the-go, encourages communication to flow upwards as well as down and aims to provide easy access to central resources for all our team members.”

Mellors operate over 360 catering contracts in education and business sites across the North of England. Mellors Catering Services are committed to ‘delivering an exciting choice of food using only the finest, freshest ingredients from local suppliers which means better a quality food experience for all our customers’.
