North West SCOTY winner revealed

On Friday 7 December, Cheryl Allen was revealed at the North West England winner of the School Chef of the Year competition sponsored by McDougalls.
Allen, who is from Manchester and employed Manchester Fayre, is based at St Mary’s CE Primary School in Moston.
Her main course was a Beef whirl with carrot and potato mash, broccoli and meaty gravy followed by a dessert of peach tartlet with kiwi, lime, mango and peachy fruit salsa and edible flower decoration.
The four North West contestants who qualified to take part in the first of the live Regional Finals had to cook their dishes against the clock and under the scrutiny of a panel of Judges.
They had 90 minutes to prepare four portions of a main course and a dessert suitable for serving to 11 year olds in school.
Allen will go on to compete in the national finals on 7 March 2019 in Stratford Upon Avon.
