NSMW visits the House of Commons

20 Nov 2018
Today (20 November) LACA will visit the House of Commons at part of National School Meals Week (NSMW).

It will engage with MPs and Peers as they sample the very best of school meals from a specially designed 25th anniversary menu in the aptly named Jubilee Room.

The lunch will enforce the message of the importance of a hot, nourishing meal in the middle of the day to ‘power’ children in all the important areas of their academic and physical development.

NSMW (12-16 November) has been a chance for caterers to showcase their school meals.

ISS’ school catering business has served curry, the nation’s favourite school meal, to over 120,000 pupils during the week.

Steve Kemp, sector director at ISS Education said: “I couldn’t be happier with how our National School Meals week activities went. It’s wonderful to see so many of our staff and schools engaging with the celebrations.

“When I see children excited to try healthy, homemade food, socialising while they eat, and leaving the dining room happy and satisfied it shows how important great school food is. What LACA do is fantastic, and I am glad we have the opportunity to support NSMW.”
