Veg Power UK launches ‘Veg Chomp-ionship’

16 Oct 2020
To celebrate World Food Day, Veg Power UK has challenged schoolchildren to take on their ‘Veg Chomp-ionship’ tournament using downloads from the ‘Eat Them To Defeat Them’ activity book.

The Veg Power activity book has vegetable puzzles and games using vegetables to encourage children to eat more of them. Veg Power is on a ten-year mission to encourage more children in the UK to consume vegetables.

In the UK one third of primary schoolchildren are overweight or obese. According to Veg Power research 80% of children don’t eat enough vegetables and half of parents say they have ‘given up’ try to get their children to eat five-a-day.

Today (16 October) is World Food Day, which was established 75 years ago after the formation of the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations in 1945.

World food Day aims to raise awareness that millions of people around the world suffer from hunger and malnourishment.
